Mission Statement

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers was organized in 1893, to advance the art, science, and practice of naval architecture, shipbuilding and marine engineering.  For over a century members have included commercial and governmental practitioners, students, and educators of naval architecture, shipbuilding, and marine and ocean engineering.  

SNAME encourages the exchange and recording of information, sponsors applied research, offers career guidance, supports education, and enhances the professional status and integrity of its membership.

NAMEI SNAME Student Section 2nd Annual Quiz Bee

The SNAME student section of NAMEI Polytechnic Institute conducted
its quiz bee relating to naval architecture and marine terms. It was
held on August 16, 2018. It was attended by students taking
B. S. Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering.

  Engr. Rizalito Perez, Technical Manager of NK conducted
a presentation Entitled “Classification Society and Statutory Issues”

conducted a presentation entitled Cyber Security and Intelligent Shipping. He also discussed

the Benefits of Becoming a Member of SNAME.

     Carlo Marasigan, President of  ANAMESP conducted a

     Presentation entitled “Environmental Sustainability: A

    Descriptive Study of Renewable Energy Resources as A

    Potential Power Generation to Shipyard Industries”

Carlo Marasigan, President of ANAMESP were presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a gift for his preatation headed by the Dean of Academics, Angie Laureta , Faculty Advisor Engr. Ceferino Jogno Jr. Nina Elona, SNAME NAMEI Student Section Chair with Atty. Michael Taylor, Director, Global Outreach and Strategic Initiatives, SNAME USA. He was also given a certificate by SNAME Western Europe for submitting a paper in 2018.


SYMPOSIUM 2019

           

            Paulo Aguila and Crizel Sigua, Past Chair of SNAME NAMEI

            Student Section both now professional Naval Architect &

            Marine Engineer. They were both given the certificate of

             Appreciation from Western Europe Section for submitting a

            Paper in 2017 entitled “A Feasibility Study on Self- Propelled
            Floating Drydock for the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Present
            were Atty. Michael Taylor, Director, Global Outreach and Initiatives
            SNAME USA, Angie Laureta, Dean of Academics and Nina Elona
            Chair SNAME NAMEI Student Section.
