Panel
membership is open to anyone interested in the application
of human factors principles to the management, design,
operation and maintenance of marine systems. The discipline
of Human Factors (HF) represents a collaboration of
behavioral science and engineering principles to address
the requirements for managing, designing, and operating
systems taking into account the capabilities, limitations,
needs and expectations of its human users. HF is also
known as ergonomics, and has been labeled under various
names at different times in different agencies such
as Human Systems Integration (HSI) in the U.S. Navy,
MANPRINT in the U.S. Army, Crew Systems Integration
in NASA, and Prevention through People (PTP) in the
U.S. Coast Guard. |
