Hydrodynamics Committee

Chairperson
Mr. William G. Day

The Hydrodynamics Committee has five active panels: Seakeeping Characteristics, Unsteady Propeller Hydrodynamics, Flow Studies, Analytical Ship Wave Relations, and Ship Controllability. The Committee sponsors studies in the field of hydrodynamics. Using both academic and industry resources it conducts research in design improvements and problems which has often lead to breakthroughs in the state of the art of hydrodynamic principles.
Panels
H-5: Analytical Ship Wave Relations - Dr. Arthur M. Reed, Chair e-mail
H-7: Seakeeping Characteristics - Dr. Yung Sup Shin e-mail
H-8: Propulsion Hydrodynamics - Mr. Stuart D. Jessup e-mail
H-10: Ship Controllability - Mr. Alexander C. Landsburg e-mail
H-11: Flow Studies, Resistance, and Propulsion - Dr. Edwin P. Rood e-mail
The panels are involved in various aspects of hydrodynamic research such as analysis of subharmonic roll motion of ships and ocean platforms, wave analysis studies and the comparative study of sea trial amd model test factors, as well as propeller hydrodynamics and design.
