SNAME 2009 Annual Meeting Recap Video	The 2009 SNAME Annual Meeting was a wonderful week. "In all aspects, the 2009 SNAME Annual Meeting was a resounding success,” SNAME President Keith Michel declared. “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to those who attended the meeting, the many SNAME volunteers who organized the technical programs and social events, the meeting sponsors, and those that exhibited at our EXPO. Attendance numbers confirm President Michel’s sentiments. Nearly 1,200 members and nonmembers of the Society attended and participated, exceeding expectations. For the first time, Providence, RI, played host to SNAME’s largest annual event.

Attendance numbers confirm President Michel’s sentiments. Nearly 1,200 members and nonmembers of the Society attended and participated, exceeding expectations. For the first time, Providence, RI, played host to SNAME’s largest annual event.

Beyond attendance, highlights included:

The unanimous election of Edward N. Comstock to serve as President of SNAME, effective January 1, 2011;
Presentation of SNAME Medals and Awards (see below for video)
Over three dozen technical paper presentations and panel discussions;
The 1st Annual SNAME Regatta (slideshow) won by Team STX Canada Marine captained by Dan McGreer.
The SNAME Golf Challenge (slideshow) presented by Lloyd's Register and Wärtsilä.
