| Welcome
to the Hampton Roads Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers |
|
If you are involved in the marine industry, if you like
ships or
boats, if you like a technical challenge, or if you want to listen to
expert speakers and talk to other people interested in maritime affairs,
you will enjoy the Hampton Roads Section of the Society of Naval Architects
and Marine Engineers and you will be welcome. We are very fortunate to
be in area which has more shipyards than any other region in the country,
has the greatest population of shipyard workers in the country, has the
second largest container port on the East Coast, and is the home of the
largest military fleet in the world and the largest coal export terminal in the
world. In addition to the big ships our small boat yards and small boat
designers support the military fleet and the great recreational area
of Chesapeake Bay.
We live in an area with great maritime challenge - please come out and help
us meet that challenge.
