The semi-submersible drill rig Eirik Raude owned by Ocean Rig ASA of
Norway has arrived in Marystown, following a three day voyage from the
Orphan Basin, about 375 km northeast of St. John's.
The rig was taken out of operation last week to repair a
small crack in one of the bracings. Ocean Rig wants to ensure that the
vessel is fully fit to complete the Great Barsway well under the
extreme weather conditions in the area.
The repair time, including transit is estimated to be
about three weeks.
