A new feature on the reverse side of the printed 2007 membership renewal form and on the online payment form is a list of 68 areas of expertise and interest. 2006 Student Congress Report

Dr. Compton checking the dimensions of
the “Flaming Mako”

The Student Congress, which took place at the 2006 SMTC&E/SPS in Ft. Lauderdale, is the highlight event of the Student Program. It offers students an opportunity to work together and gives them the chance to show off their skills of engineering and ingenuity. This year, the Student Congress was a big success. Over 130 students from 13 different schools participated. All of the students were divided up into nine teams. The idea was to mix students from different schools and diverse backgrounds into these teams to create cross-school relationships and strengthen bonds among the students of SNAME.
