The SNAME Student Newsletter is one of several tools the Student Steering Committee (SSC) has created to achieve its two-fold mission: to increase student awareness of and participation within SNAME, while simultaneously improving SNAME member's awareness and support of students.

The Student Newsletter is e-mailed directly to all SNAME student members and now has a link on the SNAME homepage located under the flyout menu called "Student Activities". The student newsletter contains interesting articles on student projects, helpful hints for job interviews, and more.

SNAME HQ Outreach to Katrina Victims

In the last SNAMeNewsLetter issue, SNAME reached out to Katrina victims to learn of their professional reference losses. Some responses have been received indicating that these losses include most or all of some members professional references, and most particularly their copies of Principles of Naval Architecture. Anyone wishing to help them recover their losses may do so by sending a contribution check to SNAME Headquarters, made out to SNAME and with the notation "Katrina Victim aid". Any amount is big enough to help. The accumulated funds will be used to provide replacement texts for Katrina victims. If you need to make a SNAME contact regarding this, please e-mail wmaclean@sname.org.
