Volunteer Position Open for
Mentoring Committee Chair

Description:

  • Coordinates with Sections Manager at SNAME Headquarters
  • Help recruit volunteer mentors
  • Assign mentors to students based on expertise and career goals
  • Assess mentor/student relationship via quarterly teleconferences

Requirements:

  • A dedicated SNAME member who enjoys working with students and young professionals, and has a basic knowledge of the segments that exist in the maritime industry
  • Has an interest in mentoring a student or a young professional during his/her career

Mandell and Lester Rosenblatt Undergraduate Scholarship Award

The Society is pleased to announce the first award of the newest SNAME scholarship, named in honor of noted naval architects Mandell and Lester Rosenblatt, for undergraduate study of engineering design in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering and ocean engineering. This award is for support of one year of undergraduate study in approved schools by student members of the Society who have a passion for naval architecture/marine engineering/ocean engineering, have evidenced professionalism and active involvement in SNAME activities as well as shown sound academic achievement.
