Professional Liability Insurance
for SNAME Members

Message from A&E Advantage:

A&E Advantage understands the financial liability resulting from claims of negligent acts, errors or omissions facing engineering professionals who provide design services or consulting advice. One of the main reasons why professional liability insurance is so important is that even when a claim is not justified, the costs of defending it can be substantial.

This policy is tailored to the unique exposures of those who design or engineer watercraft and will cover up to $5,000,000 in financial loss – members can chose the coverage level that best meets their firm's risk exposure.

Some important features of this policy include:

  • Coverage for legal liabilities including settlements, compensation, damages and legal defense costs
  • Protection for current and former employees or partners, consultants or subcontractors including joint ventures

This product is currently available to members in Canada. Availability in the United States is scheduled to begin in June 2007.

SNAME members are encouraged to contact the following Program Managers at A&E for details on how to apply.
