SNAME regrets to announce that we have been forced to remove this forum from the website.

When SNAME created the Forums it was intended that members and non-members have a means of sharing information of common interest. The intent of the Shipbuilding and Production Forum was to help and encourage members to ask questions and seek advise; for example there were a few instances of discussions on catamaran and barge designs, and use of shipbuilding software. Unfortunately, over the latter part of 2002 the forum has been misused by companies and individuals to sell engines and parts, and seek used parts for various pieces of marine equipment. SNAME does not feel this is appropriate for a technical society.

We apologize in advance to those members who used the forum correctly. SNAME will consider reintroducing the forum in the future if members feel it can be of benefit.
