The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) in London has a recently completed website, which may have some features that we should review prior to the Strategic Planning Group meeting.

We have downloaded a number of the pertinent documents for review, including (in PDF format) the January issue of their monthly 8-page news & activities mailer, called RINA Affairs. (The file size is 1,130KB)

Their home page also contains a PDF version of the cover page and table of contents for the upcoming issue of the the Naval Architect. (The January issue cover page linked here is 446KB)

The home page has the standard information such a meeting dates, etc. One feature to bring to members' attention is the use of the web to issue (in PDF format, which provides accurate depiction of complex graphs and figures) papers issued for "written discusion." The paper by Prof. Vassalos, et al on Ship Behavior in Astern Seas. (The file size is 431KB)

The International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) is now on the web. Links to its member societies are also provided within this site.

Additional links may be found on SNAME's Maritime Links page. This page, which is accessable through the SNAME home page, provides a good listing of marine related links.
