Student Call for Posters StatusOPEN (Deadline Extended)

Deadline: January 20, 2012

The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) is proud to present ASNE Day 2012. The theme for this year’s ASNE Day is “Naval Warfare - Critical Engineering Challenges.” The Naval Engineering profession provides the backbone supporting the design, acquisition and maintenance of the force structure required by the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Coast Guard today’s world. Challenges facing our sea services include rising naval powers, decreasing allied naval forces and future budget pressures. A key to maintaining our stature as the greatest naval power in the world is the ability to execute the Department of the Navy’s thirty-year shipbuilding plan and the USCG modernization plans. Naval engineers must rise to the occasion to ensure these plans are executable within the budgetary constraints by applying best engineering practices and smart technology adoption to meet required capabilities within defined budgets. Identifying and resolving these critical engineering challenges will ensure a robust and capable Navy, Marine Corps and USCG.

ASNE is actively seeking student participants in ASNE Day 2012 and we are providing a supplemental program to allow students to fully benefit from their time spent at ASNE Day.
