Joint SNAME , MTS, and ASNE meeting in Hawaii at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse:
On April 22nd 2010, SNAME Regional Vice President John Malone and Hawaii State contact Todd Peltzer cohosted a joint SNAME, MTS, and ASNE meeting at Ruth’s Chris in Honolulu. With ____ members and ____ students in attendence, SNAME President and keynote speaker Keith Michel gave a technical presentation on Climate Change and Ship Efficiency.The meeting was a huge success on so many accounts including the tremendous opportunity for students to meet and mingle with local industry titans. The event also granted the opportunity for John Malone, Todd Peltzer, and Vanna Keller (UH Student Section Chair) to plan and outline a schedule of events for the coming year. It’s safe to say, SNAME’s future in Hawaii is looking bright. A special thanks to Keith, John, Tom, and the Southwest Section for all their support in including the students.

Beer on the Pier Joint Meeting with MTS
Students met with MTS Section for a less formal meeting at Makai Research Pier. ORE Chairman and director of the Hawaii Undersea Research Lab, Dr John Wiltshire gave tours for the research facility and the lab’s 3 research submarines. Students and Industry professionals enjoyed an opportunity to learn, mingle, and enjoy some ono (Hawaiian for delicious) cuisine.
