UH SNAME Mission....
(We're bringing out the big guns)
On a macro level, The University of Hawaii SNAME Student Section strives to uphold the mission of SNAME National including promoting the exchange of information as well as supporting education and enhancing the professional status of its members
Located in the heart of the Pacific Ocean, the biggest challenge of living and working in Hawaii is communication. Here at the University of Hawaii, we see this as a tremendous opportunity. Our goal is to help strengthen the Ocean and Resources Engineering Program, the SNAME Southwest Section, and SNAME National by providing a strong means of communication between faculty, students and industry professionals.
Because the Hawaii Student Section is so young, this year the true challenge will be in establishing these lines of communication and helping the members utilize and strengthen them. We will strive to accomplish these ambitious goals by reaching out to local industry establishments, co-hosting local Hawaii Section dinners, and partaking in teleconference meetings with the SNAME Southwest Section as well as other student sections.
If you or someone you know will be visiting the Hawaiian Islands and would be interested in giving a technical presentation at a section meeting please contact us. We would love to hear from you.
