COMMITTEES - SNAME provides opportunities for leadership in the society at the local and national level. Volunteer participation in SNAME has been a vital part of the maritime community for more than 115 years. Standing Committees, Technical & Research Committees and Panels, Ad-Hoc, program and education committees set the direction and focus of the Society.
STUDENTS - SNAME has more than 27 student sections and 1,000 student members. Leadership opportunities at the local level and participation in the SSC (Student Steering Committee) are available. Students enjoy a generous discount on books, special rates at the Annual Meeting and other educational programs, and are mentored and supported by the parent sections. Scholarships and the student development fund make membership and participation affordable and part of a smart plan for career development.
AUTHORS - SNAME is an important venue for publishing technical information. Industry professionals and students are encouraged to respond to calls for papers for the Annual Meeting, SNAME Symposia and Technical Journals SNAME is an internationally recognized society and carries the prestige and reputation of excellence in the publishing of scholarly works.
REVIEWERS - SNAME publish peer reviewed technical papers. Papers submitted are reviewed based on rigorous standards for technical content, originality, long-term technical value, and completeness.
