Mr. Burris has over 10 years of experience supporting the offshore industry in Houston, TX. His career has focused on stability and hydrodynamics, including diffraction analysis, global motions, mooring, and numerous Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) studies. Mr. Burris has held a Texas professional engineer license in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering since 2009.
Following graduation, Mr. Burris joined Det Norske Veritas where he gained valuable regulatory experience. He then took a position with Atlantia and spent the next three years focusing on stability, installation, and global motions of semisubmersibles and TLPs. Prior to joining Alan C. McClure Associates (ACMA), Mr. Burris worked two years with Delmar Systems analyzing mooring systems for mobile offshore drilling units in the Gulf of Mexico. In the past 5 years with ACMA, he has continued to focus on vessel motions and mooring systems, with 3 years of experience in applying CFD simulations to marine applications.
In addition to positions served on the Texas Section Executive committee, Mr. Burris has also been active in the Offshore Activities Steering Committee, and has served as the SNAME Vice-Chairman of the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) Program Committee since 2009.
