The Great Lakes/ Great Rivers Section's Winter meeting will be an "All LNG" symposium/conference that will address the use of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) as a potential fuel for the marine waterways in the Great Lakes Basin. The two-day conference will begin shortly after the conclusion of the Great Lakes Waterways Conference.

Life Cycle Cost Forum

The
SNAME Southwest Section is hosting a day of presentations and a panel
session focusing on a timely topic. The goal of the day will be to
share ideas, problems, and solutions for various parties in the marine
industry. Discussion will be centered around cost savings and how they
apply to the many stages of a vessel's life. Representatives from the
industry will discuss aspects in the design and specification, build,
operation, and maintenance phases and what is being done and what more
can accomplished to save money.
