Alexia Aubault
Alexia Aubault graduated with an Engineering Diploma from Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees (ENSTA), in Paris, France in 2004. She went on to earn a Master of Science in Ocean Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2005. She has been a naval architect at Berkeley-based Marine Innovation and Technology since then. Her work focuses on global design of floating platforms. She has experience in hydrodynamic analysis and is currently working on the structural design of a floating foundation for a wind turbine, the WindFloat.





Vice Chair
Ying Mei
Mei works for Herbert Engineering Corp. in Alameda headquarter. She is primarily involved in the areas of general naval architecture and vessel design with experience in intact and damage stability analysis, ship structural design, and preparation of operating documents such as Trim & Stability booklets, Cargo Securing Manuals; and Ballast Water Management Plans. During her schooling, Ms Mei had internships at Nantong COSCO shipyard, Jiangnan Shipyard, and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai, as well as at Lloyds Register and at ABS Houston. Mei holds a B.S. degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2002) and an M.S. degree from the University of Michigan (2004). She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Washington.

Academic Liaison for Cal SNAME
Professor Ronald W. Yeung
Ronald is a Professor of Distinguished Rank at the University of California at Berkeley. He holds faculty appointments in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Ocean Engineering Graduate Group. A Fellow of SNAME, he has over 30 years of industry, teaching, and research experience in the marine areas. He has supervised more than sixty PhD and Master graduates. His teaching and research interests are in fluid mechanics, ship mechanics, computational methodologies, and ocean engineering. Professor Yeung is the recipient of the Georg Weinblum Lecturership Award 2002-03 and the SNAME 2004 Davidson Medal

Professor Michael Kazek

Leonard Stanton
Leonard started his own firm in 1996, Archimedes Engineering, Inc., a consulting firm providing a variety of engineering services to the marine industry. Prior to that he worked at Morris Guralnick Associates on a wide variety of marine projects and as Naval Architect at Maryland Shipbuilding and Drydock and Bethlehem Steel Shipyard, San Francisco. He holds a degree from the University of Michigan, and is a section past chairman of SNAME.

Cameron Baker
Cameron works for Herbert Engineering as a Marine Engineer and Naval Architect. He received a B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute in 2007.
