The International Activities Committee is established by the following provisions of the SNAME Bylaws

D3‑5.  Planning and Policy Committees

(d)   International Activities Committee
The International Activities Committee   shall consist of at least six members with the grade of Fellow or Member who have knowledge of international marine professional organizations and have familiarity with the functioning of SNAME Executive Committee and/or Council. The Committee shall oversee and provide support for the Society’s international presence, activities, alliances and cooperative ventures. The Committee shall also provide recommendations to the Council and Executive Committee for policy guidelines for carrying out the international activities of the Society

The Committee shall be responsible for enhancing the professional benefits to SNAME's members through interaction with other Standing Committees of SNAME, and members of the international marine community.  It shall also be responsible, in cooperation with the T&R Steering Committee, for coordinating technical activities with other maritime societies to enable direct technical input to IMO and other maritime organizations from independent professional sources worldwide.
