Footy
In connection with the Annapolis sailboat symposium on March 15-16 there will be a model sailboat regatta on Saturday night in connection with the cocktail party at the Severn Sailing Association. In conjunction with the SNAME annual meeting in Houston 2011 a very popular Footy sailing regatta was held. This event continued at the SNAME annual meeting in Providence in 2012. This year several Footy Regattas are planned. The regatta is open to any attendee of the symposium and there will be additional Footy boats on loan for those who want to participate. The best solution is to let the creative juices flow to create and build your own.
A Footy is a small radio controlled sailboat. The Footy is a development class rather than a one design class which allows variation in boat design within the rule limits. Footies are a recognized class by the American Model Yachting Association who administer the class rules.
