The Young Professionals program (YP) exists to facilitate the transition from SNAME student member to associate member. It allows additional opportunities for "young" (all ages) professionals to meet and network outside of the formal setting of meetings and presentations and relate to those in a similar career stage. Any SNAME member can participate in YP without any special application process.
Activities
Activities of YP sections vary by region and there may not be an active group in every region at all times. An example of an active YP group is the Chesapeake Section Young Professionals who list their activities on
this page, including YP happy hours, volunteering efforts and presentations aimed at the young professional audience. One example of these activities is a presentation on the P.E. licence by SNAME members who have recently earned it.

You can get connected right away with YP by joining the YP on the Move E-group.
This is intended to help orient YPs as they move to new areas and connect them
with other SNAME members. |
