Mike Hall is our new Membership Director
I am very happy to announce that we have a new Membership Director,
Mike Hall
. Mike comes to us from the Marine Technology Society and is a professional membership manager having worked in both the association and the professional society world for not for profit organizations for the past 15 years. Mike has served in membership-related positions for the National Association of Manufacturers, Intermodal Association of North America, the Homebuilders Association of Maryland, and since 2006, with the Marine Technology Society (MTS). Mike has been effective in growing and supporting membership in each of these groups.
At MTS, where he has worked since 2006, Mike served as Manager of Member Groups and Student Outreach. In addition to managing and liaising with the Section and Committee leadership, Mike has recently expanded his responsibilities to graduate and undergraduate student outreach, enabling MTS to nurture secondary education students interested in marine technology. Mike has Bachelor’s degrees in History and Education, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
Mike will join our team 24 August. He will work with the Membership Committee and
Michael Corl
, Membership Chair, to focus on providing services that bring value to our members to grow membership and retain our members. He will also take responsibility for our Young Professional program.
Alana Anderson
will continue to manage our student activities. We have been working closely with MTS and this friendly acquisition is a direct result.
I'd like to say that
Linda Davis
has been doing an exceptional job in supporting our members while we were short staffed. Linda's careful handling of member questions and issues generates compliments on a regular basis. She cares about our members in a way that is very clear to those she helps and takes pride in her personal service.
You'll be hearing from
Mike
and
Linda
very soon. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.

I believe I should point out that Michael Corl is also our Functional VP for Membership. He is busy getting classes off the ground at the US Coast Guard Academy at the moment.
