Conference Overview:

The 2007 SNAME Maritime Technology Conference & Expo and Ship Production Symposium, or “SMTC&E and SPS,” will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida this Fall. Renowned for excellence in its technical program, SNAME will once again offer technical programming of the highest caliber, professional development opportunities, and profitable networking. The SMTC&E and SPS will once again be a quality and topical meeting with extensive opportunities to "network" with the industries represented as well as with each other.

This year, for the first time, the Conference will open with the President’s Reception located in the Expo Hall. Conference registration packages will identify those eligible to attend. A not to be missed networking opportunity to make new contacts, renew friendships, enjoy great food and beverages while exploring the Expo and learning about new products and technologies available in the marine industry.

The Technical Program will enhance your professional development and increase your knowledge of important topics within the industry. In addition to thirty peer-reviewed papers and Ship Production Symposium presentations, the Technical and Research Program sessions, and student papers, a highlight of this year’s program is the addition of two major panel discussions:

  • Cruise Ship Panel Session: "Challenges in the Cruise Ship Industry….Design, Construction, Safety and Operations"
  • Shipbuilding Panel Discussion

Each panel will consist of five distinguished representatives from these industry sectors and will be moderated by a recognized expert. These panel discussions will be scheduled as plenary sessions, to avoid conflict with other events and to encourage full attention and participation.

The Expo offers the ability to do business right on the show floor while learning about the latest technological advances and products within the maritime industry.

The Student Program will once again feature a design competition, as well as a student program track, student poster session, and Student Job Fair.

The SMTC&E and SPS will be located in the Broward County Convention Center, providing convenient access to our Headquarter’s hotel, the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Hotel.
