Hilton Americas-Houston, Houston’s largest convention hotel, is connected to the George R. Brown Convention Center via skywalks. Located one block from Toyota Center (home of the Rockets, Comets and Astros) and two blocks from Minute Maid Park (home of the Astros), the Hilton is minutes from the theatre district and from the cultural museum corridor. A 24-story state of the art convention hotel, it offers a comprehensive business center, three restaurants, the lobby bar, Java Coast Coffee emporium, and the Skyline Spa and Health Club.

Airports

Houston has two major commercial airports, Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby, both just a short commute from the Central Business District, and a reasonable distance from hotel hubs and convention facilities. Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is the city’s largest, and has grown to become the nation’s eighth busiest airport in the U.S. for total passengers. It is located approximately 23 miles north of downtown Houston, near the Sam Houston Tollway. Hobby Airport (HOU) is located approximately seven miles southeast of downtown, near the I-45/Gulf Freeway. Visit www.houstonairportsystem.org for detailed information.

Public Transportation

An extensive travel network allows you to explore the city at your own pace, and it includes a tree trolley system for those staying downtown. Express shuttle service and METRO, Houston’s city transit system, offers service between Bush Intercontinental Airport and downtown and between Hobby Airport and downtown. The city also has a new light rail system, which will take passengers from downtown Houston, through the Medical Center, Museum District, and to Reliant Park’s facilities.
