Join us on September 29th - October 1st for the 2004 SNAME Maritme Technology Conference & Expo!

I am pleased to announce that the 2004 Annual Meeting, which has been renamed the “2004 SNAME Maritime Technology Conference and Expo” or “SMTC&E,” will take place in Washington, DC this fall. Once again, the Conference will be held in conjunction with the Annual Ship Production Symposium - a winning combination. You will not want to miss the outstanding Technical Program, along with the popular President’s Reception, Student programs, Expo, and other networking events. The entire Conference and Expo, along with all special events, will be located in the Hilton Washington DC Hotel, providing convenient access to all activities.

Washington, DC is not only the nation’s capitol and the seat of government, but is one of America’s most exciting destinations. The sights and sounds of Washington, DC inspire millions of visitors every year. From its celebrated symbols of patriotism to its undiscovered neighborhoods, familiar sights, free attractions, and rich Naval history, Washington, DC offers an endless array of activities, in a city easily accessible to most major cities by air, car, and rails.

The technical program, consisting of two SNAME tracks and two Ship Production Symposium tracks, with a first time ever one-hour time slot on Thursday dedicating all four tracks to student presentations, promises to provide one of the best, timely, content-packed programs available. Presentations on new and innovative ship production, design, operations, and innovative product and system technologies will provide opportunities for professional development and will expand your knowledge base. The Expo will gather the best maritime products and technologies in one location for information exchange, sales and networking.

I look forward to welcoming you to the SMTC&E. Plan to join us September 29 – October 1, 2004 in Washington, DC for what promises to be an exciting conference, incorporating relevant technical information exchange with networking opportunities.
See you in D.C.!

Sincerely,

Bruce S. Rosenblatt
President SNAME
