STUDENT
CONGRESS and AWARDS
Jefferson Room West
8:00 am - 12:00 pm
The
Student Congress is the crown jewel of student activities at our
annual conference. This exciting event gives students from all
schools the opportunity to socialize and work with students from
different colleges and universities.
Every
year, a new and innovative design problem is presented to challenge
students to construct a "ship" that meets certain water
tank requirements. Students are divided into design-build-test
teams who compete for bragging rights and a cash prize.
Senior
SNAME members judge the competition, which provides great opportunities
for young members to network. The winning team photo appears throughout
society publications. Each year the Student Congress attracts
students and professionals alike, to witness the "ship construction"
competition and it has been a smashing success. Come join them
and to see the future leaders of the society and have some laughs.
Conference
registration badge required.

JOB FAIR
Hemisphere Room
2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
The
Job Fair provides students with an excellent opportunity to meet
with a variety of companies who are looking for prospective employees.
The Job Fair is for all students from freshmen to seniors. Freshmen
and sophomores can begin to see what opportunities are available
to them after graduation, while juniors and seniors can gain a
foothold, and possible employment, among various companies. Students,
and students only, can sit down with recruiters to learn
about the companies, discuss possible positions, and have a personal
interview.
Please
dress appropriately, bring your résumé, and be ready
for an interview when you visit the Job Fair.
Student
appointments may be scheduled by sign-up at the SNAME Booth in
the Expo Hall. Please be sure to stop by as early as possible
to obtain your preferred appointment time.
