SNAME President Comstock Declares
2012 Annual Meeting & Expo an “Exceptional Experience”
Edward N. Comstock, President of The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, commented today on the 2012 SNAME Annual Meeting & Expo and Ship Production Symposium held on October 24 - 26 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.
"The SNAME Annual Meeting was an exceptional experience for all who attended. Every year, we raise the bar for our technical program and networking activities and the feedback I received from attendees tells me that we met the challenge and then some. This year’s technical content exceeded my expectations and provided a rewarding experience for all who attended. I am pleased to say that we captured all of the presentations with video over PowerPoint and we are anxious to make the content available to everyone. I want to thank the Annual Meeting Planning Committee, the Headquarters staff, and the many SNAME volunteers who organized the technical content, student program, and social events; the generous meeting sponsors; and exhibitors at the sold-out Expo. I would especially like to thank everyone who attended the meeting and contributed to the camaraderie and networking that makes this SNAME meeting a must-attend event each year.”
This was SNAME’s second year at
the Rhode Island Convention Center, the Atlantic venue for SNAME’s largest
annual meeting. Attendance exceeded prior year levels with 1,100 SNAME members
and non-members, including more than 210 students!
