Welcome to the SSC Microsite!

Hello!

Thank you for visiting the Student Steering Committee website.

We are here to help and support the development of all student sections. On our website, you can find information related to running your student section smoothly as well as resources you can share with your members such as employment opportunities, scholarships, and more. Also, for your assistance, we have published an Electronic Media Guide as well as a more detailed Microsite Guide that you may find useful in building your section's microsite.

If you have general questions, please feel free to reach out to our chair, James Coller (jcoller@umich.edu), or if you have microsite questions, you can email me (lafort@umich.edu).

On behalf of the SSC,

Teresa LaForest
Electronic Media Chair

What is the SSC?

The Student Steering Committee (SSC) is a standing committee of student representatives given the unique opportunity by SNAME to help guide the Society and make it responsive to its younger members.

The SSC is comprised of volunteer students from undergraduate, graduate, and recent graduates from around the globe, all committed to active student participation within SNAME. The committee is led by five elected student officers, and the student chairs from all Society Student Sections.

SNAME T&R Call For Students

The SNAME T&R Ad Hoc Panel AHP-22, Capsize Egress andSurvivability, wants YOUR help! We're looking for innovative students to join us in discussing and designing new ideas for successful egress in a capsizing ship. Imagine being inside a capsizing ship - the walls were not designed for walking on, andgetting to the high end of the ship during an emergency would pose significant challenge. How can ships be designed to make this easier? Students who help create innovative ideas to overcome this challenge will have the opportunity to present their work at SMC 2019!

Contact: Rick Ashcroft, T&R Committee Chair at rick1000@cox.net, or at +1 (760) 519-7829.

If you're interested in other ways to get involved with SNAME T&R, also contact Rick Ashcroft.
