In this presentation Thanasis Avdimiotis, Average Adjuster will introduce:
• What constitutes a general average,
• How shipowners' interests are protected,
• Real life examples with simple calculation of the GA expenses, contributory values and amounts to be paid by interests involved in the common adventure.

Mr. Thanasis Avdimiotis is working in Hellenic Marine Adjusters S.A. as an Average Adjuster since 2015.

In 2012 he completed his bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete with a specialization in Financial and Business Mathematics and in 2014 he obtained his MSc in Marine Policy from Cardiff University.

In 2016 he successfully passed his exams and became an Associate member of the Association of Average Adjusters.

He is also an Elected Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers having successfully passed his PQE (professional qualification examinations) of the ICS.
