Canadian Atlantic Section - Halifax Winter Dinner 2020

The Canadian Atlantic Section of the Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers invites you to our annual Winter Dinner for members, non-members, spouses, and guests at the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron's Saraguay House on the evening of Thursday, February 27, 2020.

The keynote guest speaker will be Mr. John Newton of Fleetway Inc. and the topic will be “Operational and Engineering Experiences of a Sailor Turned Admiral”.

Mr. John F. Newton, Managing Director Fleetway Inc. (Retired RCN Rear Admiral)

John joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1983 after graduating as a geologist from Dalhousie University. His experience in the RCN includes commanding HMCS Fredericton, command of Canadian Forces Base Halifax, Commander Maritime Forces Atlantic, and before retiring taking on the post as liaison officer with Veterans Affairs Canada. On June 4, 2018, John retired from the Royal Canadian Navy and is now the Managing Director of Fleetway Inc.

Menu Options
All plated dinners are served with salad appetizer, rice pilaf, seasonal vegetable medley, rolls & butter, freshly brewed coffee or tea, and choice of one item from each of the following categories:

1.) Poached Haddock or,
2.) Roast Loin of Pork

1.) Chocolate Mousse Torte or,
2.) Acadian Apple Crisp

(Special dietary issues can be accommodated. Please include with registration)

$40 per person (inclusive of HST and fees)
