2013 Cardboard Boat Competition

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the first annual Cardboard Boat Race at Virginia Tech has been postponed until the spring semester. Please check back then for the latest information. Details about the race can still be found below.

Teams of at least three students and teachers will design and build a boat made entirely of cardboard. On race day, three members of each team will attempt to successfully navigate the course while staying afloat.

There are four steps to enter Virginia Tech's Cardboard Boat Race:
  1. Complete the survey to register your team.
  2. Sign and complete the Cardboard Boat Race waiver (required for ALL team members).
  3. Read and understand the Cardboard Boat Race rules.
  4. Submit the waivers for ALL team members along with the $30 registration fee before the deadline.
If you have any questions about the Cardboard Boat Race, send an email to Wes Downs.
