Michail F Cheliotis, Chairman:
Mr Michail Cheliotis was born in Greece in 1993 and he currently lives in Scotland. He is a 5th
year Masters Student studying in the University of Strathclyde in
Glasgow specialising in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He is
an awarded scholar from ABS and BP with his most recent achievement
being winning the
“IMarEST-Alfa Laval Student Marine Engineer Award”
for his 4th year thesis. His involvement with his
university ranges from being a class representative to being an active
student mentor in his department’s mentoring program. After serving as a
Vice-Chairman he is currently the acting Chairman
of the University of Strathclyde SNAME Student Section. Mr Cheliotis is
also a student member in RINA and IMarEST. His has industry experience
in ABS Greece and in Maran Gas Maritime, from his summer placements. He
strongly believes in the importance of volunteering
as he is a volunteer forest fire protector in Mt Parnitha (Greece) and
he is passionate about windsurfing and tennis.
Eirini Trivyza, Vice-Chairperson:
Eirini is a 5th year NAOME student who decided to pursue her dreams in Naval Architecture after completing her studies in Architecture and Engineering. During her free time she enjoys getting involved with a range of volunteering activities. She is an actively involved STEM Ambassador, Coordinator of the “Orchid” Student mentoring programme and Committee member of the Strathclyde annual GALA Dinner. Along with her studies she has gained valuable experience in a range of disciplines through diverse internships. The past few years she was an intern at the Hellenic and Black Sea Region Plan Approval Office of Bureau Veritas and at Babcock Rosyth.
Fotios Stefanidis, Secretary:
Fotios is a 3rd year student in the department of NAOME. He is a student member of RINA and the Vice-President of SUNAS (Strathclyde University Naval Architecture Society). His last two summer placements were in the technical departments of Oceandynamic's Marine Engineering & trading agency and of Neda's Maritime Agency. His love for the sea and the maritime world derives from early memories of his travelling with merchant ships under the captaincy of his father. Fotios' passion for sailing and literature occupy his spare time. His ambition is to leave his mark in the field of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
Preslav Petrov, Media Officer:
Preslav, born in Bulgaria, is currently a 4th Year NAOME student in Strathclyde University. His passion towards the marine sector originates from his early ages due to the time spend onboard ship under his father’s guidance as a chief engineer, whose love and devotion to the sector have been passed down to his son. Preslav’s industry experience comes from a summer placement in the R&D department in CIMC Raffles Offshore. He is a student member of RINA and the Strathlcyde University Naval Architecture Society. As hobbies he enjoys swimming, trampolining, drawing and writing short stories.
Georgios Koufos, Communications officer & Treasurer:
Georgios is a 5th year MEng student. He is from Greece and he has already a diploma as a Mechanical Engineer. He has design degrees in Solidwork and Autocad and he is a student mentor in the university of Strathclyde. He loves extreme sports and everything around the sea. More specifically he has Motor boat and Sailing boat licence. Moreover he has an Assistant Instructor scuba diver degree and he is member of “Project Aware” Foundation. He has worked in several technical and management maritime companies.
