T&R Introduction
This is the fifth edition of the T&R Newsletter. The purpose
of the newsletter is to provide technical information of interest to SNAME
members and to keep them up-to-date with the activities of the T&R
program. One of the objectives of this particular Newsletter is to introduce
you to the SNAME website and the information that is available there. Hopefully,
the SNAME website will serve to enhance and facilitate the T&R process
and will eventually replace this newsletter.
Members are welcome to comment on the T&R Program and the contents
of the T&R Newsletter by contacting Tom Mackey, Chair of the T&R
Steering Committee, in writing c/o SNAME Headquarters, via fax at (201)
798-4975 or send email.
T&R Under 30 Program
SNAME encourages our younger members to participate in the T&R Program.
President O'Neil mentioned this in his address at the Annual Meeting luncheon
in Ottawa. The T&R Committees will make every effort to place any interested
members under 30 on technical panels that are of interest to them. Please
contact Connie
Cali-Poutré (ext. 3030) at SNAME Headquarters and mention your area of
interest or the specific panel you wish to be associated with.
SNAME T&R is planning to take full advantage of modern electronic
communications and the SNAME web site to make technical panel participation
available to all members even if they are not able to travel to panel meetings.
Please see the article on Panel O-44 in this Newsletter.
Newly Funded T&R Projects
The following T&R projects were approved for funding at the October
15, T&R Steering Committee meeting in Ottawa. Additional projects may
be funded during the current fiscal year. Requests should be submitted
through a technical panel or committee for approval before submittal to
the T&R Steering Committee. For information contact Connie Cali-Poutré or Charlie Wilson at SNAME Headquarters.
