Marine Technology is dedicated to James Kennedy, 1867-1936, marine engineer, and longtime member of the Society, in recognition and appreciation of his sincere and generous interest in furthering the art of ship design, shipbuilding, ship operation, and related activities.

It is the policy of Marine Technology to publish selected section papers, selected SNAME-sponsored symposium papers, papers that are submitted to the society that are not intended for other SNAME publications, and information of general interest to the membership. It is the general policy of the society not to publish therein papers already published in other technical journals of the marine industry.
