with developing and overseeing the Society's Web site, developing
standards for electronic format and publishing of Society
papers, and evaluating current technologies with regard to
electronic communication. SNAME staff members closely associated
with the work of the committee serve as observers.

As you will have
noticed the SNAME web pages have a new
and exciting look! The home page for EMC also has a new
look. The most obvious feature is the navigation box on the
left.

Members
still await the Headquarters staff completing the forms
so we can go active with the on-line ordering of Society
publications. Attempts to download the outdated publications
catalog is still the most often downloaded page on the
entire website. Once we go active you will be able to
order using your credit card any of the hundreds of SNAME
publications.

The
Committee continues to listen to and consider changes
to the web pages and website.

The
SNAME Intranet is coming !!!!! Our web designer is nearly
finished (October 2001) and we anticipate roll-out by
early November. The SNAMeNTRAnet will permit sections
to have a means of communicating with their members, for
example, sections will be able to put up papers for members
only. Ad Hoc panels and committees will be able to upload
papers for reviewing.
