Texas Section
October 2006 Lunch Meeting
By Lars Ronning
On October 17th
2006, the Texas Section welcomed Frank Pedersen of Seaworthy
Systems, Inc. to give a lunch presentation on “Modern Diesel Engine Combustion
Analysis”. Over XXX people turned out
for what promised to be an interesting presentation. Mr. Pedersen gave a thorough overview of the
tools available to marine engineers to perform detailed analysis of diesel
engine performance. He gave examples of
how such analyses can help the operator with not only significant fuel savings,
but also to reduce costly downtime.
Potential engine failure can be predicted with adequate monitoring and
analysis of engine performance. The
presentation was very well received and prompted many questions from an attentive
audience.

Professor Treglia from Texas
A&M University
had brought with him several students from the Galveston
campus to attend the meeting.

The Texas Section is grateful for Mr. Pedersen taking time
to fly down from Connecticut to
share his knowledge with our members.
