Thank you ... friends of Chesapeake Section

Support for Chesapeake student sections

The Chesapeake Section supports student sections at both the United States Naval Academy and Virginia Tech (VT). This support, coupled with the efforts of the students themselves, has assisted the VT Student Section to grow significantly and participate actively at the National level. More recently the USNA Student Section has begun receiving support similar to that given to VT. This is how we support our student sections:

  • SNAME textbooks;
  • direct funds for student section activities based on the numbers of student members;
  • funding assistance to attend SMTC and other field trips;
  • no charge for dinner/lunch at technical meetings; and
  • more recently, support for student chair-elect seminar at Saddlebrook.

In a letter to the major NA-ME companies in the Washington, DC area we have asked for tax-free donations to the student fund. To demonstrate thanks to contributors we have listed the corporate contributions immediately below. Many individual members and friends have also responded to the call to contributed we thank each and everyone in the section after corporate. We ask you to read our letter, and “vote yes” to support your students.
