SNAME HEADQUARTERS’ STAFF
“Hearts of Gold”

In speaking with a SNAME member last week on the current situation in Iraq, and inquiring if he had heard from his son who is serving in the military, it was brought to our attention that there was a way we could show our support for all of those brave young men and women serving in Iraq, many of them sons and daughters of SNAME members. Who would have thought that soap, razors, and energy food bars, things we take for granted, would be so needed and appreciated by those serving in the military? Supplies sometimes run low simply because the demand is high and it takes time to replenish needed items to troops on the move. When advised of this need, the SNAME staff immediately responded and in a wonderful spirit of good will and support, they assembled a big supply of soap, band-aides, razors, socks, blistex, suntan lotion, throat lozenges, tooth paste, cookies, deodorant, power bars, tuna fish, etc., to send to the troops for distribution. It is our small way of saying “thank you.” Let’s hope they come home soon, and come home safely, so that more lives will be saved than lost on both sides of the conflict.
