Dear fellow SNAME member:

I'm writing to you and other dedicated members of SNAME to ask for your help in locating professionals who would benefit from SNAME membership. It will take only a few minutes of your time, and in return, you will have the satisfaction of assisting someone in our profession, as well as the opportunity to win valuable prizes.

SNAME is encouraging each member to help in recruiting new members. Did you know that if each active member recruits just one new member this year SNAME would end 2001 and move into our 110th anniversary year with over 21,000 members? Now that's an accomplishment! And, even if the numbers fell short by 5,000 the membership roster would still show 16,000 members.

How do you get started? There are two ways:

  1. E-mail or fax the names and contact information of your non-member colleagues. We'll send membership information and an application to your nominees, containing your name as the recruiter.
  2. Give a membership application to a non-member colleague. You can access the online membership application via the SNAME web site at www.sname.org . Print your name and membership number on the recruiter's line of the application to qualify for prizes in SNAME's Membership Drive.
WIN PRIZES

A free year of Membership for 2002 will be awarded to the member who has recruited the most new members during each of the first two months of the campaign. The winner in the first month is ineligible to win in the second month. The member who has recruited the most new members during the total three-month drive will win a PALM VII handheld computer.

I believe you will agree that you will be doing your colleagues and the marine industry a great favor. Think back on how you became a member of SNAME. Someone, perhaps a colleague or an employer, recommended SNAME because he or she knew that SNAME could provide the resources you needed to enhance your career. Give your colleagues the same chance to enrich their careers by nominating them.
