ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/PROFESSOR

ELECTRICAL/MARINE ENGINEERING/NAVAL ARCHITECTURE

 

The United States Merchant Marine Academy, one of the 5 Federal Academies, is a degree granting institution which is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.  Two engineering programs  (Marine Engineering Systems and Marine Engineering & Shipyard Management) are accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology.  The Academy is located in Kings Point, Long Island, New York just east of New York City.

We are seeking applicants for a Full-time position as Assistant/Associate/Professor of Engineering.  Minimum qualifications for appointment as Assistant Professor are a Master degree or a Bachelor’s degree + PE or USCG 2nd Assistant Engineer’s Marine License.  Applicants with a senior USCG marine License, a graduate Engineering degree in electrical engineering or naval architecture and industrial experience are especially desirable.

               

Applicants will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in naval architecture or electrical engineering as well as marine engineering.  This position is in the Expected Service and will be available approximately March 11, 2001.  U. S. Citizenship is required.
