Hurricane Katrina - SNAME's Response

These pages have been created by SNAME to help those practitioners and students of Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, and Ocean Engineering who have been affected by the devastation of hurricane Katrina.

These pages are located in the public portion of the SNAME website and therefore are available to both members and non-members.

  • SNAME's Sections - click here for links to all of SNAME Sections including local sections and special links for Students
  • Donations - In light of SNAME's commitment to education, the Society will direct its Katrina fundraising efforts to assisting students who were displaced by the hurricane. All funds donated to this cause will be utilized to provide SNAME student members from the University of New Orleans with financial support for attendance at and travel to and from the SNAME Maritime Technology Conference & Expo and Ship Production Symposium on October 19-21 in Houston depending on available funds received.

Your contributions to this cause will enable these UNO SNAME student members to continue with their education by attending this important conference. Please make your commitment now by sending your check to SNAME and add your name to those members and companies who have already donated.
