International Electronic Membership
~ Overview ~

In an effort to provide more international maritime professionals with the benefits of membership, SNAME introduces the International Electronic Membership program. This program will further the organization’s mission* and 2006 goal, which is to be at the forefront of dissemination of technical information, to professionals in developing nations who would otherwise find the cost of membership well beyond their reach. This program is intended to provide access to the many benefits of SNAME membership by maritime professionals in developing countries at a reduced level commensurate with their respective country’s average income level as defined by the World Bank. By creating this special category of membership, SNAME’s benefits and resources will be accessible to maritime professionals throughout the world.

Unique to the newly created international membership, is the all-electronic feature. This will ensure timely receipt of technical journals and information, thereby providing access to the member that which had been previously unavailable to them. This membership offers the international member access to SNAME’s world-renowned technical information and resources. The SNAME website is a portal to a vast repository of T&R publications and technical information, and serves as a resource and reference for maritime professionals. In addition, the SNAME website features a calendar of maritime events as well as a directory of membership.

To be eligible for participation you must be a permanent resident of one of the countries identified by the World Bank in one of the three lower income categories. Dues will be calculated on your membership application, payment is due upon application and will be billed annually in January each year.
