Maritime Safety Act of 2000 - U.S. House Resolution 5025
U.S. Representative DeFazio (Oregon) introduced legislation in the U.S. Congress on July 27, 2000,
that included a Section 8 to eliminate single hulls over bunker tanks. This legislation was not
enacted but it indicates the Congressional interest in this issue. (Section 8 is on the last page of
