The Alexandria Seaport Foundation (ASF) is a not-for-profit organization operating from facilities on the Potomac River waterfront in Old Town Alexandria. ASF’s primary focus is on the use of the traditional enterprise of boat building to help at-risk and disadvantaged youth straighten out their lives. ASF runs a Boatbuilding Apprenticeship Program, which is an intensive combined GED/vocational training program, as well as STEM on the Potomac, Building To Teach, Gig Rowing, and other programs. ASF’s main workshop is an 8000 square foot facility located at the foot of Duke Street in Old Town. ASF also operates a second boatbuilding shop at Seaport Center, located a couple blocks north between Founder’s Park and the Torpedo Factory. Our event will be at Duke Street.
Ample free parking is available adjacent to the workshop. Casual attire is recommended.
