SNAME Membership Magazine (mt) Wins Three Prestigious Awards

SNAME is pleased to announce it's membership magazine (mt) has been awarded three prestigious awards for editorial and design excellence. (mt) received an Excel Award, the largest and most prestigious award that exclusively recognizes excellence and leadership in nonprofit association media, publishing, marketing, and communications, for "Single Topic Issue: 10,000 or fewer, for the July 2014 issue entitled "The Design Approach". In addition, two awards were issued by APEX 2015, the twenty-seventh annual awards program recognizing excellence in publishing by professional communicators. The January 2014 issue on the Mediterranean Region's Maritime Activities was awarded an "Award of Excellence" in the category of Magazines, Journals & Tabloids - Print - +32 pages and the article "Under Repair" also in the January 2014 issue has received an award for excellence in Design & Illustration - Photography, for the designers of (mt) magazine, the Bates Creative Group

Previously half peer-reviewed journal and half Society news, (mt)underwent a redesign in 2010 under the leadership of SNAME Member Jay Carson. The Editorial Board, currently led by Matt Tedesco, works closely with Editor Douglas R. Kelly. Each issue has two leads from the board who identify subject area experts to create cutting edge content covering a wide variety of topics within the maritime industry. The magazine is free to all SNAME members as a benefit of membership in both print and digital, and available by subscription to non-members.
