Webb Institute, located in Glen Cove, NY, on the North Shore of Long Island, is home to one of the nations most prominent Naval Architecture Programs in the country. The school was founded in 1889 by William H. Webb, who endowed the school with his family fortune to provide an excellent education for the next generation of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. William Webb was the first signature on the original SNAME charter over 120 years ago. Today his legacy lives on the students of Webb Institute, and their passion in the industry is reflected in their continual activity in the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. The student section officially formed in 2005, and is proud to be still going strong with one of the largest student memberships in the country and the successful hosting of the annual Webb Institute SEAPerch competition.
