FINAL CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: FAST 2015

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28 IS THE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE

Since 1991 the FAST conference series has been one of the premier meeting events for the advanced marine vehicle community.

The format of the conference will be the same as past events: Two or three parallel tracks of technical presentation, with written papers provided in a conference proceedings. Instructions for authors will be developed in coming weeks. A set of financial incentives will be developed to encourage student participation, especially student papers.

Extended Call for Papers: Propeller & Shafting Symposium 2015

The deadline has been extended for all abstract submissions: March 16

The fourteenth propeller / shafting symposium is being planned by Panel M-16 (Propulsion Shaft Systems) of the Society’s Technical and Research Program. This symposium will address the overall propulsion transmission system of gearing, shafting, couplings, bearings, seals, and propellers. The symposium is planned for September 15 – 16, 2015 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott & Convention Center, Norfolk, Virginia under the auspices of the Hampton Roads Section of the Society.

International Hydrofoil Society (IHS) Mandles Prize for Hydrofoil Excellence - Deadline: March 15

The International Hydrofoil Society is pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of Mr. Martinn Mandles, a long-time member of IHS and his wife Connie, IHS will once again sponsor the Mandles Prize for Hydrofoil Excellence competition. The competition includes up to $4,500 a year in IHS hydrofoil achievement prizes for students, with a $2,500 First Prize and up to two $1,000 Honorable Mention awards.

In order to open the competition to a wider spectrum of qualified entries, submissions by students based on work completed since 2010 will be eligible for the Mandles Prize. The Due Date for Entry Forms is March 15, 2015.

World Maritime Technology Conference 2015: NSRP, Student Papers, and Other Content

The SNAME Maritime Convention (SMC) is incorporated with the triennial World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC) 2015 on 3-7 November 2015 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

The theme of the conference is “Engineering Innovation Serving Society."

Abstracts for the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP), Student Papers, and Other Content are being accepted.
