OTC’s Arctic Technology Conference (ATC) Names

The Offshore Technology Conference’s (OTC) 2015 Arctic Technology Conference (ATC) has announced its 2015 Distinguished Achievement Award honorees for the Individual and the Company/Organization/Institution Categories. The ATC 2015 Awards Committee, led by Chair Norman Carnahan, will recognize Dan Masterson for Individual Achievement, and the Chukchi Sea Environmental Studies Program and its supporting entities – Olgoonik-Fairweather, ConocoPhillips, Shell and Statoil – for the Companies’ Achievement.

Abstracts Are Now Being Accepted for FAST 2015

Since 1991 the FAST conference series has been one of the premier meeting events for the advanced marine vehicle community. Planning is now underway for FAST 2015, the 13th conference in the series, and you are invited to save the date and begin thinking about a paper submission.

The format of the conference will be the same as past events: Two or three parallel tracks of technical presentation, with written papers provided in a conference proceedings. Instructions for authors will be developed in coming weeks. A set of financial incentives will be developed to encourage student participation, especially student papers.

Propeller & Shafting Symposium 2015 - Call for Papers

The fourteenth propeller / shafting symposium is being planned by Panel M-16 (Propulsion Shaft Systems) of the Society’s Technical and Research Program. This symposium will address the overall propulsion transmission system of gearing, shafting, couplings, bearings, seals, and propellers. The symposium is planned for September 15 – 16, 2015 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott & Convention Center, Norfolk, Virginia under the auspices of the Hampton Roads Section of the Society.

The 2015 PE Review Course (PERC) is Now Open For Registration

In an effort to support those individuals who are preparing to take the Professional Engineer Principles and Practice Examination in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, SNAME has developed a distance learning course that provides a review of the 4 Subject Areas with 21 sub-groups included in the NAME Examination Specification.

The course is from January through March. The 2015 course fees are $650 for SNAME members and $900 for nonmembers.

World Maritime Technology Conference 2015 - Now Accepting Abstracts

Submit an abstract for the World Maritime Technology Conference (WMTC) 2015 that will be incorporated with the SNAME Maritime Convention, 3-7 November 2015 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.

The theme of the conference is “Engineering Innovation Serving Society."
