SNAME Symposia

SNAME is an international leader in technical research in naval architecture and the marine industrial sciences. This reputation is reenforced at SNAME Symposia around the world every year. See below for upcoming 2010 symposia, completed 2010 symposia, and 2011 symposia information (as available).

IceTech 2010

September 20-23, 2010 Anchorage, AK, USA		ICETECH is the international conference and exhibition on ships and structures in ice. The 2010 IceTech symposium is organized by the Arctic Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) with Alaska’s Institute of the North.

Unmanned and Autonomous Ships

Fall 2010 Washington Metro, USA		The Unmanned and Autonomous Ships Symposium will be held for the first time in 2010. Details to be anounced soon.

Ship Operations, Management and Economics (SOME) Symposium

October 7-8, 2010 Athens, Greece		the Third International Symposium on SHIP OPERATIONS, MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS will be held on October 7 and 8 at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens. The Greek Section of SNAME and the SNAME European Regional Office will host the event.

SNAME Annual Meeting

November 3-5, 2010 Seattle/Bellevue WA, USA		The Technical Program of the Society's Annual Meeting is the longest running and most comprehensive symposium organized by SNAME. The Technical Program also includes the Ship Production Symposium supported by the National Shipbuilding Research Program.

Completed 2010 Symposia

February 9, 2010 Houston, TX, USA Thank you attendees!		The Offshore Symposium has been hosted and sponsored by the Texas Section of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers since its inception.
February 16-17, 2010 Baltimore, MD, USA Purchase Proceedings		Global climate change and governmental responses to evironmental concerns are significantly affecting all maritime industries. The Climate Change and Ships: Increasing Energy Efficiency Symposium addressed aspects of these dynamics.
March 19-20, 2010 Annapolis, MD, USA Thank you attendees!		This symposium covered the latest Power Boat developments. Topics included: Hull Design, Analysis Materials and Fabrication; Structural Mechanics Failure Analysis and Repair; Modeling and Simulation Software; Electronics and Systems; Offshore Racing; and many others.
April 28 - 29, 2010 San Francisco, CA, USA Purchase Proceedings		The Operating Ships within Emission Controlled Areas Symposium as held onboard a vessel on the beautiful San Francisco harbor.
May 3-6, 2010 Houston, TX, USA Thank you attendees!		See the OTC Website for documents and other materials produced at the 2010 OTC.
