Subject: SNAME: Channel Design & Vessel Maneuverability Workshop

SNAME, in conjunction with six leading Marine oriented private and

governmental organizations is sponsoring  an "International Workshop

on Channel Design and Vessel Maneuverability" in Norfolk, Virginia

on May 3-4.  The workshop will identify major issues affecting

interaction between channel design and vessel maneuverability. With

the nation's waterborne commerce growing rapidly, and ever larger

ships coming to our main ports, this interaction will have a crucial

bearing on the safe and efficient flow on marine commerce in the 21st

Century. Attendance will include naval architects, pilots, ship

operators and channel designers.
